Mount Vesuvius

Mount Vesuvius (Italian: Monte Vesuvio) is the only active volcano in mainland Europe which is located in the east of Naples, Italy. In 79 years, this volcanic eruption destroyed the city of Pompeii.



Pompeii is an ancient Roman city that has become rubble near the city of Naples and now in the region of Campania, Italy. Pompeii was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD eruption of Mount Vesuvius Dust burying the town of Pompeii with everything in it as deep as several feet causing this city lost for 1,600 years before it was rediscovered by accident. Since then digging again this city gives a superb view details about the life of a city in the heyday of the Roman Empire. Today, the city of Pompeii is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Mount Vesuvius eruption in AD famous for 79 which causes the destruction of Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum and the death of 10,000 to 25,000 people. This mountain has erupted several times and is now regarded as one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world because there is a population of 3,000,000 people living nearby and they lived tendency towards explosive (Plinian) eruptions.
