Mount Mayon

Mount Mayon is an active volcano in Albay Province, Philippines. The form that resembles a perfect cone makes is considered by many as the "Mount Fujinya" Philippines. A few miles to the south lies Mayon Legazpi City.



Mayon is the most active volcano in the Philippines. Throughout the last 400 years recorded have occurred around 50 eruption of Mayon. The first recorded eruption occurred in the year 1616. latest eruption occurred in 2006, five years before the Mayon also erupted. The worst eruption occurred on February 1, 1814 When the lava flows buried the whole town of Cagsawa and 1,200 people died. The mountain is located between the Eurasian Plate and the Philippine Plate.
